Am planning to pick these up on UK DVD - unless someone wants to make me a present of the HK BDs... it's only five months until my birthday!
Anyhoo, a quick question: They were released in 2002/3 on Hong Kong Legends then rereleased in 2012 on Cine-Asia Presents Hong Kong Legends. are the latter releases improved in any way or are they straight reissues of the original DVD masters?

The Cine-Asia DVD rereleases of the Hong Kong Legends discs were identical. The packaging is different, that's all.
Get what you can find since Cine-Asia went bankrupt and all their releases are out of print!

I'd really like to get the German triple BD set featuring the Fortune Star transfers; a steal even on Amazon UK. It only contains German subs though so kinda limits who I could watch 'em with!
