Re: What did you watch today?
4. Breaking the Waves (US Blu)
One of my all-time favorite movies. For me this is, by far, the best of Lars von Trier, way ahead, let's say Dancer in the Dark. Emily Watson is just incredible - 10/10.
5. The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser (UK Blu)
Funny vision of the society by a man who had no contact with people. Another ironical movie by master director Werner Herzog, entertwined with a mystery based on true events - 8/10.
6. Blood Ties (Broadcast)
I liked this gangster movie, directed by French actor/director Guillaume Canet, and written by James Gray - 7/10.
7. Philomena (Broadcast)
Touching story of an old woman looking for the child that was taken from her by nuns in Ireland - 7/10.
8. Non Stop (Broadcast)
If you can get past the unconsistencies, this is a good action movie - 7/10.
9. Veronica Mars (Broadcast)
Maybe this can be interesting if you watched the series, but by itself it's just boring - 3/10.
10. Only Lovers are Left Alive (Broadcast)
Great mood and musics for this story of melancholic vampires - 7/10
11. How Much Wood Would A Woodchuck Chuck (UK Blu)
Herzog documentary about auctioneers world championship, talking with a speed you can't imagine…! 6/10
12. Battlestar Galactica: Mini-series (French Blu)
This is a series I'm discovering… rather standard (but quite dark) introduction to the Battlestar Galactica universe so far. I wil have to see more - 6/10.

Re: What did you watch today?
Star Trek TOS Season 1 - The Man Trap (First viewing; UK BD) - 8/10
Watched it with the enhanced effects and they do look superb! The 7.1 DTS-HD MA AQ during the dialogues sounds weak though. I had to switch to the original mono to watch the whole episode.

Re: What did you watch today?
53. The Lady (2011, UK Blu) - 7/10 - Good to see Luc Besson stray from his comfort zone. Michelle Yeoh and David Thewlis were perfectly cast.
54. The Magnificent Seven (1960, UK Blu) - 8/10
55. Quartet (2012, UK Blu) - 8/10 - Wasn't expecting this at all. Dustin Hoffman makes his directorial debut at 75 and what an enjoyable little film he made. I usually can't stand Billy Connolly, but his character here was hilarious.
56. Shelter (2010, UK Blu) - 5/10 - Not bad, but ending was all over the place.

Watched this yesterday myself (first time on Blu, second time altogether) and think it is pretty underrated. Really like the cast, and loved the ending.Ain_Uussaar wrote:Retreat (2011)

It's a slow start, that's for sure. The ending really impressed me though, I always prefer such brutal realism over Hollywood "happily ever after" implausibility.Ain_Uussaar wrote:Started watching it the day before yesterday and finished it yesterday. Re: What did you watch today?
Yeah, I mean the first time I watched it I had guessed that it would be pretty early on, but I was not expecting that last minute to turn out like it did!
