I Have a Pioneer audio/video multi-channel receiver VSX-D710S Digital Signal Processor (EON R.D.S, Dolby Digital, DTS Digital Surround) with a Jamo 5.1 Speaker set.
It's old but it still gets the job done

Okay, your receiver should actually tell you in the settings, but you could also listen for it.
Is their different sound coming from each of the front speakers (mainly effects)? If so it isn't mono. Often headphones are a great way of telling with ease. Having channel separation at the front, but single action from both rear speakers means surround.
Unfortunately, many Blu-ray and DVD players show all three as Stereo.
The easiest way to tell if a Blu-ray is surround is to put the disc in a BD drive and use the free download called BD Info. It will tell you if it is surround.

Part 10 has pictures. Dual Mono is like stereo, but instead of the same stream using the centre speaker, it uses the same two as a stereo track but without any separation.

There is only sound coming from the front speakers. I used a headphone and there is no channel seperation. The DTS logo is visible on the receiver.
So that would mean it's DTS-HD Master Audio with an English 2.0 Mono Soundtrack. Big words for something that is pretty crappy It sounds horrible, especially the music. The Dolby Digital 5.1 Soundtrack from the dutch DVD sounds a lot better. Too bad that one is 4:3.

Use "pro logic" from your receiver (with the 2.0 track). The sound is ONLY coming from front CENTER channel (via pro logic)? Then it's 2.0 mono.David_Tolk wrote:There is only sound coming from the front speakers.

When I use pro logic on my receiver I hear nothing. No sound at all.

There is a button signal select. It lets me choose between DTS and Pro Logic. With DTS the normal soundtrack. With Pro Logic it's silence.
