Picture Format: Anamorphic
TV System: PAL
Soundtrack(s):

- Japanese Dolby 2.0 stereo

ASIN:
- B0031QJ5D8
Note:
The sleeve claims the soundtracks are 2.0 Stereo / DTS-HD, when in fact they are 2.0 Stereo / 5.1 Surround. The sleeve also erroneously claims there is a theatrical trailer and a photo gallery on the disc (sleeve can be seen at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Departures-DVD- ... B0031QJ5D8).

Note about the "Encoffinment" extra:
In the comparison (R2 Japan and R3 Hong Kong), this is described as a "deleted scene". I don't think this is correct. This scene (or at least 3:50 of it) is played at the end of the film underneath the credits. As the credits play, the camera gradually pulls back. The "Encoffinment" extra is really showing the full encoffinment ceremony at full length and full size (without the pulling back) and without the credits. It's filmed with a black background, so it's not really a "scene". The title in the DVD menu is "Encoffinment - A Feature", there's no mention of "deleted scenes".

Minor corrections for the comparison:
- in two places, "Japanese" is misspelt "Japaense"
- in the conclusion "Note that the Germany and US releases has exclusive interviews with the director.", "has" should be "have".

The Arrow Blu-Ray is already in the database at http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=31173, but I suspect some parts of it are not correct:
- Subtitles are optional on the DVD so it seems strange that they are burnt in on the Blu-Ray
- 1.85:1 non-anamorphic NTSC doesn't look right
- Note about the "Encoffinment" extra applies

I have the Hong Kong DVD and it was listed as a "Deleted Scenes" but yes, it is the encoffinment footage in full.

As for the Blu-ray, I also have it but I haven't watched it yet, the review from The Digital Fix says "burned-in" and I think I did a BDinfo scan to check if the subtitles were burned in or not. Since I'm still on vacation, I can't check my own disc, but I will as soon as I return home.

Added the UK DVD, and fixed the few typos. Thanks!
