I urge everyone to watch this documentary about VFX. It's quite short, but very enlightening to what is going on in the industry.

Re: What did you watch today?
115 - Sorcerer (French Blu)
First watching of this movie which happens to be a remake of the French classic "Le Salaire de la Peur" (Wages of Fear). Similar story, but different themes for this often brilliant variation - 8/10.
116 - The Neon Demon (Theater)
Not quite convinced by this final "Refn" opus ; beautiful, but it seemed pointless. Worth a second chance - 6/10.
117 - Touch of Evil (UK Blu)
Classic noir movie, with Orson Welles at his best - 8/10.
118 - Thor (UK Blu)
Standard marvel adaptation, not really bad, but far from awesome - 6/10.
119 - Looper (Broadcast)
Labyrinth movie about time-travels. This topic has been delat with many times, but this one clearly takes things one step higher - 7/10.
120 - Astérix et Obélix : Mission Cléopâtre (French DVD)
By far the best of the "Asterix" series : a real fun, with many references to the French comics, movies… and so on - 8/10.
121 - Rabid Dogs (UK Blu)
Classic, but very efficient suspense from Mario Bava - 8/10.
122 - The Strangers (Theater)
Maybe not the masterpiece it could have been, but this mix of thriller, horror and religious matters is another proof that Korean cinema is well alive and that Hong-jin Na is one its leaders - 8/10.
123 - Ted 2 (Broadcast)
Maybe not as good as the first movie, but still all right - 6/10.
124 - Out of Africa (UK Blu)
First time I watched this "classic" : very beautiful pictures and a good story make it worthwhile - 7/10.
125 - The Program (Broadcast)
The story of Lance Armstrong : stylish, but not unforgettable - 6/10.
126 - Solace (Broadcast)
Below-average thriller with Anthony Hopkins playing a psychic. Dull ending - 5/10.
127 - Black Sea (Broadcast)
Rather good thriller set in a submarine with Jude Law - 6/10.
128 - Labyrinth of Lies (Broadcast)
True story of a young German lawyer fighting for German people to recognize what really happened in concentration camps - 7/10.
129 - Crimewave (US Blu)
One of the first movies of Sam Raimi, rather funny and entertaining - 6/10.
130 - Alleluia (US Blu)
Really disappointed by this fourth movie of belgian director Fabrice du Welz. Bloody, but never scary Adapted from actual events, but I never understood what was the point of all this - 4/10.
131 - Miséricorde (Broadcast)
First part of a trilogy, adapted from novels by danish writer Jussi Adler-Olsen. Rather OK, but nothing truly tremendous - 6/10.
132 - Jason Bourne (Theater)
Efficient, but that's about all. The story looks very much like what we saw before - 6/10.
133 - Profanation (Broadcast)
Second part of the novels from by Jussi Adler-Olsen. Again this is not bad, but again, I'm not that much convinced - 6/10.
134 - La Isla Minima (Broadcast)
This tense Spanish thriller, set in a post-Franco period, was a great discovery - 8/10.
135 - Dog Soldiers (US Blu)
Hadn't rewatched this for a very long time. This is really highly effective! 8/10.
136 - Delivrance (Broadcast)
Third part of the novels from by Jussi Adler-Olsen : this one was clearly one step higher, with more suspense - 7/10.
137 - The Eiger Sanction (French Blu)
This thriller/action movie directed by Clint Eastwood in the 70s was a good surprise - 7/10.
138 - Breezy (French Blu)
Surprising for an Eastwood movie (with a cameo of the director I think) : not really my kind of thing (love story between a young hippie girl and William Holden in his 50s), but not unpleasant after all - 6/10.
139 - Made in France (Broadcast)
French movie : story of an islamic terrorist cell planning an attack. Not really convincing - 5/10.
140 - Southpaw (Broadcast)
Not very original, but this boxing movie is damn efficient - 7/10.
141 - The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (Broadcast)
Not the best from Guy Ritchie, but a quite strange mood, somewhere between comics and western - 7/10.
142 - Game of Thrones #6 (Broadcast)
More balanced than most of the previous seasons, with many things happening, and some unforgettable moments in the last episodes - 8/10.
143 - Borgia #1 (French Blu)
A brilliant first season with incredible actors and a tremendous (true) story. I don't know what the other series on the same topic is worth, but equaling this one seems almost unreachable - 9/10.
144 - Engrenages #5 (French Blu)
Still an awesome fifth season, too bad the ending is a bit disappointing… otherwise I would have given a 10. Best French series ever? 9/10
145 - Wayward Pines #2 (Broadcast)
Disappointing compared to the very good first season. Everything seems to have been told... - 5/10.
146 - Game of Thrones #5 (French Blu)
A notch higher than after my first viewing, despite a slow pacing during most of the show - 8/10.
