Country: France
Region: B (locked)
Releasing Studio: Filmedia
Case Type: Keep Case
Aspect Ratio: 1.33:1
Codec: AVC MPEG-4
Picture: 1080p
Soundtracks:

English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 mono
French DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 mono

Subtitles (are they optional?):

French (for English soundtrack only, and FORCED)
French (translation of on-screen text only, for French soundtrack only, and FORCED)

Cuts: No known cuts (113:16)

presumably uncut, as it is a few seconds longer than the R1 DVD (runtime for this Blu-ray = 113:16, runtime for R1 DVD = 113:07)

"Okinawa by Patrick Brion" featurette (22:04) in French, no subtitles
Theatrical Trailer (2:47) in English

Notes:

Note that the French subtitles are FORCED for the English soundtrack.

Case, disc and onscreen menu use the movie title "Okinawa". Onscreen title during the movie opening credits is "Halls of Montezuma".

Region confirmed as B only (locked).

Extras are in SD.

Easter Eggs: none known
Amazon ASIN (UK, French, German, USA releases only): French: B007HCB1UM
Source: I own a copy.

Additional info (NOT for inclusion in the database):

I am submitting this entry more as a warning than anything - it does have the English soundtrack, but has FORCED French subtitles, so is perhaps best avoided by those seeking an English friendly version. One possible exception would be those that own a player that can override the disc's settings and switch off subtitles even when they are forced (I understand some high end and/or modified players can do this). I bought it myself for the English, not knowing that the subtitles were forced, so for now I will probably stick to using my R1 DVD.

Thank you Darrel. Yes, forced subtitles can be annoying. Added!

I think it would be a good idea to reinforce the fact that the subtitles are forced, by repeating it in the "Overall" section e.g.:

Currently the only release we have specs for, but note that it has forced French subtitles.

But I am not sure if you have a standard protocol for this, so perhaps you would prefer to leave it as it is - I'll leave it to your judgment.

We would usually note about forced French if other releases were out there (such as the recently updated "Alexander" Blu-ray).
