Why does dvdcompare.net not have a category for DVD/Blu-ray?

Why does dvdcompare.net not have a category for DVD/Blu-ray releases?

Some DVD/Blu-ray sets feature a disc with unusual or rare material on it, but I don't know how to submit
searches for DVD/Blu-ray entries at dvdcompare.net nor how to search for them.

The 2016 TC Entertainment Japanese Blu-ray/DVD combo of Return of the Living Dead 3, which is indicated
as a High Definition Master Edition, contains a Region A Blu-ray which is cut and widescreen, and a Region 2
NTSC DVD which is uncut and full frame. This is the first and only time Return of the Living Dead 3 has been
available uncut on an NTSC DVD
(even though it's Region 2 instead of Region 1, and is full frame instead of
widescreen).

Surely, there must be a way to list this information at dvdcompare.net.

Simply put, many reviews won't list the info and specs for both the DVD and Blu-ray, and the set-up currently already accounts for when the Blu-ray and DVD specs differ within a combo release.

We do however list under both the Blu-ray and the DVD comparisons where possible, and if the specs are different between the Blu-ray and the included DVD, then they will generally be listed in entirety under both comparisons. We do essentially list as you ask already, but under DVD or Blu-ray.

Also, having completely different comparisons with just combo releases would actually be a nightmare considering so many releases start off as a combo and then just drop the DVD. Resources are just better utilised as is.

I had to re-read the question several times and am still not 100% sure: are you actually asking for separate listings for BD/DVD combo releases? If so, it's impractical for various reasons, only some of which Sam's detailed. Why not just do as I and I'm sure many others do, and search BD and DVD listings of any titles you're interested in?

Aaannd... why not add the spec for that Japanese RotLD set while you're at it?!

Okay, so how do I list the DVD from the Japanese DVD\Blu-ray of Return of the Living Dead 3? Do I just
enter it as DVD and put a note saying: "available only as half of a DVD/Blu-ray set"?

Easy. Follow one of these two formats.

1. You might want to input it only as a DVD entry.
When typing the subject of the "Your Comparison" thread, type: Return of the Living Dead 3 (R2 Japan)

When filling in the data:
Title: Return of the Living Dead 3
Country: Japan
Region: 2
Distributor: TC Entertainment
Case Type: Keep case
Aspect Ratio: 1.33: 1
Anamorphic?: No
PAL or NTSC?: NTSC
Soundtracks: ?
Subtitles (are they optional?): ?
Cuts: No (?)

Notes:
- This is available only as part of a BD+DVD combo release
- ...etc.

Your post will later be added by the admin here: http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=2154

2. You might want to input it as a combined BD and DVD entry.
When typing the subject of the "Your Comparison" thread, type: Return of the Living Dead 3 (BD A Japan)

How to layout your comparison --> http://www.dvdcompare.net/forums/phpbb3 ... =9&t=15287
If you choose this way, your post will be added to both the BD and DVD data of that title.

Hope this helps :)

Post details for both counterparts as a single post, and because there are differences in what is included on each disc, the full details of both the Blu and DVD will be listed under each comparison 8)
