The Korean Bitwin release (which I also have) is already at http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=4273.

Interestingly, the Bitwin disc is listed at 106:03, and 106:03 = 1:46:03, whereas the Tai Seng release runs 1:44:59.

Your new specs list the Aspect Ratio as 1.78:1, while the listing at
http://dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=4273 says 1.85:1.

Why might that be?

Are you sure this is region 1? Tai Seng usually sells for both America and for Hong Kong/Taiwan so I assume region 0 or at least 1/3.
Korean 5.1 Surround, English, 5.1 Surround, Mandarin 2.0, Cantonese 2.0
Are these Dolby Digital tracks? For the 2.0 are they stereo, surround, or mono tracks?

Also, please provide Amazon IDs for American releases.
Which is the correct listing?

This one: B000929VS6

Or this one: B0002B55X4

First off, you already submitted this a while back and your name is on the listing. Some differences though:
Soundtracks:Korean Dolby Digital 5.1, Korean 5.1 Surround???
What is this "???" portion?
Aspect Ratio:1.78:1
Before you listed 1.85:1 but now you list 1.78:1. Which is correct?

Dunno. My Blu-ray player doesn't tell me (probably because it's region free), and my PC doesn't
complain as long as a disc is Region 1, Region 0 or Region Free. VLC player doesn't always freeze
on discs from other regions, so I use DVD Shrink to find out whether they're from Region 2, 3, 4 or 6.

No idea. I just wrote down what it said in the menu.

No idea. I just wrote down what it said in the menu.
We definitely need this information about the audio. Players whether computer or stanalone will display it. Note that sometimes what is written on the cover or menu screen can be wrong so trust the player's display.
Yes. I had said in the notes that it was the "Special Edition."

I just found that I do indeed have a program that will indicate disc regions: DVDFab.

It lists Tai Seng's The Ring Virus Special Edition DVD as Region 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

My Blu-ray player lists the following [indicates my own comments]:

Korean Dolby Digital 5.1
English Dolby Digital
Chinese Dolby Digital [Mandarin]
Chinese Dolby Digital [Cantonese]

How? I have Windows Media Player, VLC Player, and DVDFab Media Player 2. None of these
three players display audio information in the format you want.

In DVDFab Media Player Pro, audio is listed as English - AC3 Stereo, for example.

AC-3 is another name for "Dolby Digital" so looks like the issue is solved. For a 2.0 track it would usually label it as "AC-3 stereo" or "AC-3 surround".
It would not list the 2.0 track as "stereo" because software cannot detect that unless it is a 1.0 track.

So to tell whether stereo or mono is either by ear, or ripping the audio tracks to a program like Audacity and checking to see if the left and right audio tracks are identical or not.

I assume the 2.0 tracks are stereo tracks. Added the US release, thanks!

Still waiting for Asmund to reply about the Korean release.

DVD Shrink has these:

• AC3 2-ch Chinese
• AC3 2-ch Chinese

I don't see a much consistency as far as the way such information is listed.
Care to make a chart that compares the nomenclature?

At any rate, please choose which of the above I should use on a regular basis.
Listing all three for every entry I make seems like unnecessary work to me.

I don't have the program Audacity, and that sounds like a ridiculous amount of work.

the only thing in this thread that is mine is that the movie is 1.78:1 and not 1.85.1
??? you should just delete. So it is a easy correction. No need to made any fuzz about it.

There is a consistency in the way audio and subtitles are listed. There may be a few exceptions due to listings being older. To avoid future confusion we will make a listing on how to list audio and subtitle listings.

What I meant is the way they are listed in playback devices and software, not the way they are listed at dvdcompare.

For example:

My Blu-ray player lists the following:
• Korean Dolby Digital 5.1

DVDFab Media Player Pro lists these:
• Korean - AC3 5.1

DVD Shrink has these:
• AC3 5.1-ch Korean
