Re: Shin Godzilla (2016) Blu-ray A USA
A facebook user has also submitted specs for this but there is a lot of back and forth with questiond regarding subtitles.
1. Is the Japanese text for names, locations, etc part of the English subtitle track and not burned into the image?
2. Do the English subtitles caption the English dialogue?
3. Are the credits in English or Japanese (or both?)
4. Facebook user says runtimes are (119:50) for the Blu, (119:54) for the DVD, you write (119:51) for the Blu, (119:44) for the DVD. Who is correct?

Re: Shin Godzilla (2016) Blu-ray A USA FAO estebon
Opening and closing credits are in Japanese. There are no burnt-in subtitles of any kind on this release. All names and locations are a part of the 2 available subtitle tracks. Track number 1 is for all spoken dialog (English as well) with names and places on top of the screen. Track number 2 is for names and places only. About the runniing time, my specs do not include the bonus red screen after the film containing English blu-ray credits. Even if I had included that, the facebook users specs would still be off. Same goes for the dvd. All my specs have been manually verified.

Pardon me for reviving this thread estebon.
But just to make things clear, turning on the first subtitle track are the English subtitles for all the dialogue and captions along with Japanese captions, correct?
When Japanese names or locations are presented, are the English subtitles just above the Japanese text or are they on the top of the screen?
The Facebook user says there is Japanese text as part of the subtitle track "Ah, just saw some japanese text appear in the center of the screen and the english was above in the black bar area."
So I assume that the Japanese is part of the English subtitle stream.
Edit: the Facebook user says he watched 15 minutes and hasn't seen any Japanese text yet, so he may have been mistaken.
Please check our current listing to see if the wording is correct.

Being that this version uses a clean print (no burnt-in Japanese captions), the English subs translate everything with dialog on the bottom of the screen and names and places on the top of the screen. The second set of subs are for viewing the film in english and only names and places are captioned on top of the screen.

Got it. Removed the mention of Japanese text from the listing.
