Fantasia (1940) BD UPDATED

Post by Brent_Reid »

The BDs dropped most of the DVD Anthology set's extras, making them available via Disney's Virtual Vault. However, as described in this DVDDizzy review, most of them are actually on the Fantasia 2000 disc, though only accessible via a BD drive. Full details are three quarters of the way down the page, from the paragraph beginning "Here's where things get really odd..."

It is a matter of havinf the right software to access the files. I could not get it to work when I tried. Also Disney stopped their BDLive for Fantasia so all the extras are innaccessible online. Not cool.

Yup: BD-Live and Disney's Virtual Vault and Second Screen - all dead as a dodo. What's more, Disney are still nixing older on-disc extras and making them digital only, as on their upcoming (end of Feb) US Lady and the Tramp Signature Collection BD.

Nonetheless, at least the older Fantasia extras are on the BD and should be added to the listing.

Added a note on it. I was hoping one day Disney would give a patch update for Fantasia 2000 to make those extras accessible but they dont seem to care anymore. And the note's been added to both titles. Thanks!

Yes, I can confirm: you need AnyDVD HD (or a similar software) to access the documents. They are mostly in SD resolution.
