The Main Event (1979) - Barbra Streisand's business goes bankrupt and all she is left with is a rubbish boxer's contract she was using as tax avoidance. Funny in parts, and worth a look. 3/5
Duck, You Sucker (1971) - My least favourite Leone, but still an above average western. 3.5/5
Lessons in Love (2014) - Started off well, but was overall uneven and Jessica Alba was miscast, with no screen presence compared to Pierce Brosnan or Salma Hayek. 2.5/5
Barbershop: The Next Cut (2016) - Like the previous two movies, it really excels when it is just the comedic chat within the shop - especially with Cedric the Entertainer's character, but forcing an inane formulaic plot doesn't quite work. 3/5
Eyes of Laura Mars (1978) - Faye Dunaway is excellent in this solid giallo-style movie. Perhaps a little overhyped by fans though. 3.5/5

The Pumpkin Eater (1964) - Excellent performances from all involved, especially Anne Bancroft. A solid drama I had never heard of until Powerhouse announced it. 3.5/5
Disturbing Behaviour (1998) - This is one of those dodgy teen horrors I watched quite a bit in my teens. Nowhere near as good as I remember, but I definitely have a soft spot for it. 3/5
Hoosiers (1986) - I'm a sucker for a feel good sports movie, and this was no exception. The late Dennis Hopper shows why he is sorely missed. 4/5

Bell, Book and Candle (1958) - A little overrated for me tbh. It was funny in parts, but I found it pretty average and I had hoped for more. 3/5
Gettysburg (1993) - I like historical war dramas, and whilst the performances are strong, and this four hour epic did keep me entertained - it didn't quite transfix me. Glory is the better option for an American Civil War feature. 3/5

Re: What did you watch today?
Mr. Turner (2014) - A fantastic performance by Timothy Spall, and a decent biopic of the painter Turner. However - and I know it was a huge character trait of Turner in real life - the grunting does become annoying at times. 3.5/5

Re: What did you watch today?
Pale Rider (1985) - I know it has a lot of fans, but one of Eastwood's lesser westerns IMO. 3/5
Road to Morocco (1942) - The road to series is just silly fun. Good musical numbers (and not too many of them) and consistent humour. 3.5/5
Road to Utopia (1945) - Same as above. 3.5/5
Hollywood Victory Caravan (1945) - short with Bing Crosby, Bob Hope and Humphrey Bogart. Story weak and used to just string a couple of musical numbers. 2.5/5
I Remember Mama (1948) - An interesting drama following a family of Norwegian immigrants in America. Worth seeking out. 3.5/5
Hulk vs Thor (2009) - Not as good as Hulk vs Wolverine. 2.5/5
Joyful Noise (2012) - Kris Kristofferson looks so out of place in his short time here. Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah just don't have a good presence together which is a shame as both can be decent. A little long in the tooth and too preachy too. 2/5
