Jungle Holocaust (1977) Blu-ray ADDED

Post by Darrel_Griffin »

Title: Jungle Holocaust (1977)
Country: USA
Region: ALL (confirmed by me, and also stated on back of case)
Releasing Studio: Code Red
Case Type: Keep Case
Aspect Ratio: 2.35:1
Codec: AVC MPEG-4
Picture: 1080p 24fps
Soundtracks: English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Dual Mono (both versions)
Subtitles: none

Note there is an optional subtitle track on the "US Cut" version only, flagged as English, but it does not have subtitles for any speech as far as I can tell. So far, the point of this track is unclear to me, although it is selected by default. Perhaps watching this version in full will make things clear.

Cuts: unrated version is presumably uncut
"US Cut" version (88:56) (also known as "The Last Survivor")
unrated version (92:08)

Commentaries: commentary on unrated version with Ian Jane and Horace Cordier

Extras:

Interview with star Massimo Foschi (in English, no subtitles) (20:14)
Interview with star Ivan Rassimov (in English, no subtitles) (6:43)
Materials archive and photo gallery (6:19)
Theatrical Trailer (3:45)
Bonus Trailers:
- "Cut and Run" (1:36)
- "The Mountain of the Cannibal God" (3:53)
- "Hands of Steel" (2:21)
- "2019: After the Fall of New York" (0:53)

Notes:

1. Case says: "2017 HD scan with extensive colour correction done in America, from several vault elements"

2. On selecting the unrated version, it first displays a frame of text (0:12) stating:

"The following film is being presented to you from the best materials available to us, as it was composed from the best elements from several different sources. We apologize, in advance, for any inconvenience."

It then proceeds to start the unrated version from 0:00.

3. Onscreen title: "Last Cannibal World" (both versions)

4. All extras are MPEG-2 30fps, except for the Theatrical Trailer and the trailer for "The Mountain of the Cannibal God" which are both AVC MPEG-4 30fps, but all seem to be SD, or at least only SD quality.

5. Includes reversible cover with choice of artwork and titles "Jungle Holocaust" or "The Last Survivor".

6. Initial copies include a slipcover.

7. Currently available from diabolikdvd.com and roninflix.com

Easter Eggs: none known

Thanks - all looks good, except it is region ALL (correctly mentioned in the verdict, but at the top of the entry and in the 'cuts' section it incorrectly says region A).
