The identical Warner disc has been released in France (Digipak w/booklet, 2 DVDs and digital copy; ASIN B010EFKOO2), Portugal (Digibook) and Brazil (keep case).
1976:
The French Studio Canal DVD is in a box with a hinged lid rather than the stated Digipak and it contains a bound book rather than a booklet.
New note for French/Spanish BDs:
- The extras have been encoded twice, in PAL and NTSC. On insertion the menu gives a choice of language options; select Japanese for the NTSC extras.
Add BD listings for the exact same disc from Holland (Universal), Portugal (Universal), Oz (Studio Canal) and Japan (Geneon Universal).
BD footnote: Also available from Umbrella in Australia and Kadokawa Entertainment in Japan.
The Italian KK/KK Lives DVD set is obviously a boot: No copyright or licensee logos or notices anywhere on the discs or packaging, and what look like DVD-Rs: https://www.ebay.it/itm/Dvd-Box-Edition ... 3892201602
Same goes for the German Astro/Best Entertainment KK Lives DVD (dubbed soundtrack only!): https://www.ebay.de/itm/King-Kong-lebt- ... _cvip=true
New DVD and BD footnote:
- For its initial US network television broadcasts, a special extended, family-friendly version was prepared. This had around 45 minutes of added footage, but all overtly violent or sexual scenes and adult language in the theatrical cut were removed or replaced with less explicit takes. This version has never been officially released on home video. There are detailed comparisons of the theatrical and extended TV versions here and here.
