The Egyptian (1954) ADDED
Title: The Egyptian

Case Type: Keep case
Aspect Ratio: 2.55:1
Codec: (MVC, AVC MPEG-4, VC-1, MPEG-2) AVC MPEG-4
Picture: (1080p/1080i 60/1080i 50 etc) 1080i 50
Soundtracks: English and French DTS-HD MA 2.0 stereo
Subtitles (are they optional?): French (forced)
Cuts: (and if you know it, precise run time) None (133:58)
Commentaries: None
Extras:
- Intro featurette with Patrick Brion (9:55) - SD and in French
- Michael Curtiz by Jean-Claude Missiaen featurette (24:57) - SD and in French, except for non-subbed English-language film clips
- Original trailer (2:53) - SD and in English
Notes:
Easter Eggs: None
Amazon ASIN (UK, French, German, USA releases only): B008BLSOY4
Source:* Own copy
The current page footnote says "The American edition is a clear winner." But that's disputable. It's horizontally stretched and strangely blurry, not having much more than standard definition. I don't own it but the many screenshots at DVDBeaver and BD.com bear this out. It's also heavily tealed. It's been documented that all restorations carried out by Fox during a particular four-year period were ruined by by a certain aggressive (re)colourist. They Include this one, The King and I, The Blue Max, etc.
I own the French and Danish discs, and both are from an older, still-superior master. It's much more detailed, without being sharpened or edge enhanced, and has a natural colour palette.

Re: The Egyptian (1954)
You may very well be right about the image quality. I was merely thinking of the bonus materials, not present in the Scandinavian release. I’ll try to find the Scandinavian disc set at a library and take some screenshots, to compare with those from DVDBeaver...

Re: The Egyptian (1954) ADDED
You're welcome.
The "Creative World Promotions S.L." disc you've added is actually a region 0, BD-R bootleg from Llamentol, one of the biggest and worst Spanish bootleggers. Fox isn't mentioned anywhere on the packaging, it has DD audio and most of the Amazon.es reviews slate it: https://www.amazon.es/Sinuh%C3%A9-Egipc ... B00GOFT196
I have a Brazilian BD from ClassicLine which also looks like a bootleg, so won't add it. There's just one other legit BD, from Japan, but as it's actually from 20th Century Fox and issued in 2018, it probably has the same transfer as the US.

Re: The Egyptian (1954) ADDED
I was able to find a copy of the Scandinavian disc set at a local library.
Here are two screenshots from the American (via DVDBeaver) and the Scandinavian transfers. I spot certain differences in colouring and sharpness:
American release:

Scandinavian release:

Scandinavian release:

The Scandinavian disc is dual-layered, too, but unfortunately the movie file size is only 26 GB and bit-rate much lower, causing compression artefacts. The library disc is so badly scratched that I wasn’t able to get a graph.
I’d recommend removing the Spanish bootleg.

French BD calligraphy screenshot, just a notch below the Scandinavian for detail.

Just saw the link is still not working. Instead, right-click over the link, copy the address and paste it directly into your URL bar. That will definitely do it!
James: how about deleting that Llamentol bootleg? Your listing says, "Being licensed from Fox on the packaging..." but I can't see Fox mentioned anywhere at all, not even spuriously with some copy-pasted logo. Apart from the fact they're a bootleg label who've never licensed anything, everything about that sleeve says boot. No proper copyright info; claims DD audio yet has DTS HD-MA logo; the only region 0 release; confused AR listing; very poor quality images, especially on the rear, etc.

Re: The Egyptian (1954) ADDED
The Japanese release has the Fox logo on it, but it's a little deceptive. It says it's licensed from Fox, but released by Mermaid Films, and unfortunately in a not so good version...

Yeah, I was surprised to see it's the least of the bunch. I'm guessing Mermaid release a lot of substandard discs like this.

German DVD ASIN: B00444OGIK. The US DVD isn't listed on Amazon at all.
