Ramy: Season 1 - I really liked his stand up special "Feelings" so jumped on checking out his Hulu series, I'm really liking it, darkly humorous and well written. So far I'm three episodes in, 7/10.
Samir: You know there's nothing wrong with that name.
Michael Bolton: There was nothing wrong with it... until I was about 12 years old and that no-talent ass clown became famous and started winning Grammys. (Office Space)

Sid & Nancy: The Criterion Collection - Easily one of the best rock biopics of them all, part biography part tragic love story, the film is grimy and chaotic and easily one of Alex Cox's finest films, featuring Gary Oldman in his first feature film and shot by Roger Deakins. 9/10.
X-Men: Dark Pheonix - definitely the weakest of the X-Men films, it had its moments but otherwise nowhere near as good as previous entries, even Apocalypse was better than this, and I didn't think much of that film either. 5/10.

Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian Episode 1 (Disney+), the first in a series of behind-the-scenes documentaries on the making of this series. This first episodes focuses on the the directors. 10/10.
Prop Culture: Season 1 (Disney+), watched all the episodes in this series that takes a look at some of the most iconic props from classic Disney films. This is light and fluffy entertainment and a cool look inside the Disney archives. 9/10.
Pain & Glory (Crave), streamed Pedro Almodóvar's latest film, while Antonio Banderas' performance is excellent I thought the film was on the boring side, I didn't really care enough about the protagonist or his woes, supposedly partly autobiographical. For something that's quite personal it's a shame that there are better Almodóvar films out there. 6/10.

Into the Night (Netflix) - this is one hell of a nail-biting doomsday thriller, passengers on a hijacked flight must continue flying west as the sun has started to kill everything, they must avoid sunlight and find a safe place. 9/10.

Re: What did you watch today?
Blow Out - Finally got around to watching this Criterion Collection blu-ray, I blind bought this one being a De Palma fan and never having actually seen this film. This was an incredible thriller, Travolta sheds his teenage/early 20's aesthetic he got famous for in both Carrie and Saturday Night Fever with a truly incredible nuanced adult performance, plus his chemistry with Nancy Allen is second to none. Matched with tight editing and masterful photography by Vilmos Zsigmond, De Palma has crafted one his finest films. I don't know what took me so long to finally watch this, 10/10.

Safety Last! - The Criterion Collection Blu-ray, an incredible pioneer in the silent era, Safety Last! is a magnificent example of a high flying thrilling comedy in the early days of filmmaking. It's an innovative film and a spectacle considering the era it was made. 10/10.

Driven - The movie about John DeLorean, the cast is excellent and honestly I had little to no expectations for this film but ended up enjoying it a lot. 7/10.

Re: What did you watch today?
The Kid Brother - Another Harold Lloyd silent film on Criterion Blu-ray, while definitely entertaining and has some incredibly innovative camera techniques for the time it's not as great as Safety Last! but still a worthy entry into the all time classics of silent films. 9/10.

Watched the first two of the Samurai Trilogy Criterion Collection blu-ray, Musashi Miyamoto and Duel at Ichijoji Temple, tomorrow I'll watch the final film Duel at Ganryu Island. Really enjoyed the first two films in this series, Toshiro Mifune is amazing as always. 9/10.
