I don't understand what you mean with the "partially forced" subtitles.

So you can watch with any of the English or German audio, with or without German subtitles, but for Italian there are only German forced subtitles?

Nope ;-). Only these audio options have forced German subtitles: "English DTS-HD Master Audio 1.0 Mono COMOPT", "English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo COMMAG" and "Italian DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1".

The audio option "German DTS-HD Master Audio 1.0 Mono" has partially original English audio which is subtitled in German - also forced, but only for the Italian parts.

There are no subtitles for all the other audio options.

Capsaholic shows only 2 English audio tracks for the 40th Anniv Edition, but you list 4. Is this a different disc?

It's exactly the same like the one on Caps-a-holic.

So the subtitles for the English tracks are optional after all ;-). Only the Italian track has forced ones. It's listed a bit confusingly in the menu... you don't have any subtitle options there but can only choose the listed audio options.

German subtitles - forced for Italian audio track.
For German dub, the German subtitles are forced for the Italian portions, or are they optional?

I assume this means there isn’t a way to change audio and subtitle options during playback. Only from the languages menu.

German DTS-HD Master Audio 1.0 Mono (partially with original audio which is subtitled in German)
The "original audio" is the Italian language? So this German dub is incomplete and those portions are in Italian with German subtitles (forced)?

No, it's English (sorry, I wrote earlier it was Italian, it's English). There is a German only track but the dub for this is new. There is also the old German track with the old dub but this one is inclompete, hence the English parts.

I don't understand this one. How is there forced and optional subtitles? Can you change the audio between English and Italian?

I have to check after work to be sure. What I remember was that the English subs are burnt in (or forced) and there are optional German subtitles.
