You still need to update the Cult Epics AR to 1.66:1 - yes they actually got it right for once!

I've just checked by Blu-ray again, and even measured it, and it's definitely 1.66:1.


P.S. Eric - I'm sure you'll enjoy this on Blu-ray - it looks great, and sounds ok too despite being a lossy format. Personally I think it's one of Brass's best movies of the ones I've seen. I've not seen any of his early work before Salon Kitty, but I think I've seen all of his movies since then, with the exceptions of Capriccio (1987) (for which I am not aware of a decent English-friendly release) and the short Hotel Courbet (2009) (for which I am not aware of ANY release).

P.P.S. I have just checked my Arrow DVD copy again. Mine is part of the 8 movie Arrow UK box set (not currently listed in the database). It may well be the same as the UK Arrow DVD already listed (as an individual release and part of a 3 movie box set). If so, it should have the following corrections:

1. Region 2

2. soundtrack: Italian Dolby Digital 2.0 mono

3. no extras (i.e. not even a photo gallery)

4. runtime is 111:19

The only English-friendly release of Capticcio was a Scandinavian dvd - there might be one of those Greek newstand dvds on eBay too - titled Love & Passion. Fullscreen. Export version.

Yes I'd spotted the Scandinavian listing in the database, but it's not in the OAR, plus it doesn't have the original Italian soundtrack. I can't say I enjoy reading subtitles, but I still prefer it to listening to English dubs, especially when they sound bad, and in my experience the English dubs of Brass's movies tend to sound terrible. It's not even just the voices chosen - sometimes the dialogue simply doesn't translate well, and the romantic Italian often sounds really crass in English!

Also, I'm getting tired of buying the same movie multiple times (4 or 5 times in some cases!), so for this one I thought I'd wait and hopefully a decent DVD, or better still Blu-ray, will eventually appear.
