An American Pickle - HBO, this was a fun Seth Rogan movie, nothing groundbreaking but it held me the entire time and had some good laughs, 7/10.

Insomnia - The Criterion Collection Blu-ray, finally watched this acclaimed Scandinavian noir thriller, an atmospheric procedural with a terrific performance from Stellan Skarsgård, it's easy to see why Christopher Nolan liked it enough to remake it. 9/10.

Re: What did you watch today?
H.G. Well's Things To Come - The Criterion Collection Blu-ray, a cold yet ambitious looks at humanity's future one hundred years into the future, the films starts in 1936 and Europe is on the brink of total war, the war lasts for decades, then a global pandemic wipes out millions, only for humanity to rise up and build a utopia. There's no real central character rather there are themes at play, the acting is wooden, and the film comes across as cold and unemotional. However, the true star here is the production design and special effects, so I guess there's that. Overall mildly entertaining, 6/10.

Roman Holiday - I've never seen this classic William Wyler comedy that features Audrey Hepburn's leading lady screen debut, she delivers an effervescent performance that matches quite nicely with Gregory Peck for this light and enjoyable film. 8/10.

Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom - The Criterion Collection Blu-ray. This is easily one of the most controversial films ever made, I'd never seen it before and it's not really something that would interest me, however out of sheer curiosity and trying to get through as many Criterion films as possible this came next. This is one of the hardest films I've ever had to watch. I'm on the fence if this is a masterpiece, even though Pasolini stated this film is "for everyone", I still don't know who this film is for, 5/10.
