The Raid (2011) UPDATED
BD: https://caps-a-holic.com/c_list.php?c=7220
DVD: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film4/dvd_revi ... e_raid.htm
A question: on the UK BD, do both cuts of the film have both Indonesian and English soundtrack options? In other words, does it have four versions of the film in total? Can the answer be added to the UK listing, as per the US BD?

Re: The Raid (2011) UPDATED
Hi Brent, I checked and each of the cuts on the UK disc appears to have all of the various audio options (Indonesian, English, commentary 1, commentary 2, audio description). I've updated the comparison accordingly.

Re: The Raid (2011) UPDATED
That's really helpful to know, Rob - thanks! The listing is much clearer now. I own the US BD for the uncensored Indonesian version but will now get the (dirt cheap) UK BD for the uncensored international version. I have the UK BD for the uncut sequel, although I did pick up the French BD (less than £2 delivered!) for its extra 16 minutes of deleted scenes that don't appear to have been released anywhere else.
There's a footnote typo; it says:
Blu-ray B United Kingdom- Momentum Pictures - No cuts - includes both the (fully uncut) Indonesian theatrical version (101:06) and the (censored) international theatrical version (100:56)
But should say:
Blu-ray B United Kingdom- Momentum Pictures - No cuts - includes both the (fully uncut) international theatrical version (101:06) and the (censored) international theatrical version (100:56)
Could you also add those screenshot links to the comparisons please?

Re: The Raid (2011) UPDATED
How can the international version be both censored and fully uncut?
Or is another way to distinguish what you mean as follows:
- (fully uncut) Indonesian theatrical version [= original score]
- (fully uncut) Indonesian theatrical version replaced with Mike Shinoda score
- (censored) international theatrical version [= Mike Shinoda score]
?
I'm not sure what I have put above for the middle option is correct either, as it's not really the Indonesian theatrical version (wrong score) or the international theatrical version (which is censored). Maybe something like what's in the Overall notes: "alternate Indonesian version"?

I can't speak for whoever wrote that footnote, but the UK BD doesn't have the "(uncut) Indonesian theatrical version" - that's unique to the US BD. My point was that the word "Indonesian" is erroneous and needs swapping for "international".
But the whole sentence is somewhat tautological anyway and would be better expressed as:
Blu-ray B United Kingdom- Momentum Pictures - No cuts - includes both the uncut (101:06) and cut (100:56) international theatrical versions

Re: The Raid (2011) UPDATED
So what is unique to the "Indonesian" version then? I imagine I probably wrote about the versions in cuts note for the UK BD, based off what I saw in the Movie Censorship link in the Overall:
http://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=371804
That link suggests that the UK has both international (censored) and "Indonesian" (uncensored) cuts, and I can see both of the shots it mentions either missing from the censored one or present in the uncensored one. So from my perspective, the only thing the UK version doesn't have is the original score. What else is there on the US version that's unique to the "Indonesian" version?
From the revised notes description you've put, perhaps we should ditch Indonesian/international altogether and use the following for the versions:
- fully uncut, original score (on the US disc)
- fully uncut, Mike Shinoda score (on the UK disc)
- censored version, Mike Shinoda score (on both)
?
Unless there is something else the US disc has that I am unaware of...

Agreed, Rob: I'm all for making it as simple as possible. To clarify, the only differences between the versions are their cut or uncut status and which score they have, so...
I suggest changing all references on both comparisons to either "original Indonesian score" or "international Mike Shinoda score".
Howzat?

I have updated both DVD comparison (overdue for a rehaul) and BD comparison, including both the image links you provided. Hopefully you think it's okay?

Nice work! Trying to look at it with fresh eyes, it all seems much clearer, even if I didn't know anything about the film or its different cuts and scores.
BTW, according to these two reviews, the French BD is actually region free, not B:
http://retro-hd.com/tests/blu-ray/1082-the-raid.html
https://www.montbarbon.com/dvd/3475001035677-the-raid/
Another one says it contains: "VO (Indonésien) et VF en DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, aucun sous-titres imposés." (No forced subtitles on either track.)
Now after all that, it's time for a rewatch of both with the Shinoda score on the first, once my UK BD arrives!
