NEW 2001: A Space Odyssey: Poster Edition BD: Printing Error

I recently received the above blu-ray, it was released 7th of December as part of a new "Scifi Poster Edition" series (same discs, new artwork). I thought I was getting the 2018 Remastered 2 Disc Bluray but in fact have the 2007 blu-ray.

The slipcase says has a printing error and says (no mention of this on the bluray case itself):

"RESTORED & REMIXED 5.1 AND ORIGINAL 1968 THEATRICAL AUDIO FORMATTED FOR 5.1"

The blu-ray only has English DD5.1 and English PCM, which are exactly what my 2007 blu-ray has. The "1968 theatrical 5.1" is nowhere to be found. The Remastered blu-ray from 2018 has two DTS-HD MA tracks.

The blu-ray disc itself is the same blue colour as the Remastered release (i.e. it's not the same physical disc as the 2007 release) and cover art for the actual case is also the same cover art as the 2018 Remastered edition.

It's also only 1 disc though. The Remastered 2018 release put the extra on a separate Bluray to make room for a significantly higher bitrate

Lastly going by this DVD Beaver comparison, the MGM logo is much closer to the Blue here:

I don't know if this warrants a new addition to this comparison or just a line saying:

"Also available in a Special Poster Edition, the Special Poster Edition slipcase incorrectly says it includes the ORIGINAL 1968 THEATRICAL AUDIO FORMATTED FOR 5.1"

Did you contact Warner Home Video and receive new discs? Do you know how widespread this is or if it's an isolated incident?

Hi,

I sent it back for a return and got the two disc remastered version from HMV.

My suspicion it's a printing error and not a disc error because there's no other release with both audio tracks and the extras on the same disc. The case doesn't mention the extra audio tracks, just the slipcase.

I also suspect as these are £9.99 Warner wanted to use the old release as it has all the extras on the same disc, instead of just the first disc from the remastered release without the extras.

The cover art on Amazon is still wrong, so I suspect it's a general printing error. I tried to submit a review to Amazon but it was rejected

But yours is a DVD, which may have some differences in runtimes and bonus disc subtitles. Could you list them out? Also could you post the link to the product?

Thanks. It looks good. I don't know if this is true, it was based on the assumption the second disc was a DVD "All extras on disc 2 are in SD." It would be odd to put SD extras on a bluray.

I wanted the error to be recorded, not necessarily the remastered bluray added to be added. My first post is about the Poster Edition and not the 2 Disc Remaster. Thanks.

It wasn't showing for some reason. It's appearing now with Reissued with alternate artwork and slipcase. The slipcase mistakenly states "Restored & remixed 5.1 and original 1968 theatrical audio formatted for 5.1".
