Hi James, the UK is not anamorphic, at least the copy that I have isn't. It is 1.66:1 inside a 4:3 frame. I see dvdbeaver says it's anamorphic but they're not correct unless there's more than one version.
Looks like I forgot to say that both soundtracks are stereo (or possibly surround).
The Director’s biography is only available if you choose English as the language when inserting the disc (first pic at dvdbeaver).
Also the comparison is hidden.

The BFI packaging does say "Ratio 4x3" which I suppose is misleading. I guess this is what Dvdbeaver is reacting to when they say "Also, despite the BFI's claims, this is not a full frame presentation, but rather 1.66:1", but they go one step too far when they say it's anamorphic.
