"Letterboxed" means widescreen. Is this a widescreen transfer within a 1.33:1 frame? So non-anamorphic widescreen?

No. It's 1.33:1 (4:3) but it doesn't fill the screen like it normally does from top to bottom. There is lots of black space all around the picture.

In that case, it is "windowboxed", not letterboxed.
