There are only French HoH subtitles? There isn't a standard French subtitle track to translate the English audio?

Yes, there is only one subtitle option in the menu which is French HoH. The English track has it forced, the French one is voluntary. You can't change anything by remote control, it has to be done in the menu.

So if you choose English, it has non-removable French HoH dubtitles, so it has captions like [wind blowing] or [loud sounds] etc, correct?
So there are only two subtitle tracks, one French HoH dubtitles, one French for the audio commentary, is that right?

Well, I wouldn't consider the subtitles genuine HoH what I'm accostumed to for US/UK movies or what it is for German releases, because for example noise/sound from the environment isn't described like you wrote. But they have these typically French different colors (for example yellow for off screen dialogue) or red for descibing a mood at an event (for example at the beginning the protagonist joins a gay pride parade. At the beginning of this scene there appears a red subtitle "Ambiance de manifestation" which means "demonstration atmosphere". As I said: I don't consider the subs "real" HoH, but on the cover/slipcover there are two symbols: One for subtitles (a bullet point) and a second bullet point with the typical ear symbol (so two "bullet points"). In the menu there the subtitles are declared as French HoH and there is no "French" option without HoH.

On another note: When I see the French release there is a big BFI logo presented at the start (BFI is even credited with co-producing) - and the story is very British. Is there no BFI release available (considering the audio commentary)? Maybe without the forced French subs for the commentary?

Are you able to use a BD-ROM drive to check the disc with BDinfo? To see if there are 3 French subtitle tracks or only 2.
I'm just wondering if the subtitle track is identical for the French translation and the French dub, or if they're different.

But it seems like the French subtitle track for the English audio and the French HoH for the French dub are different. I would assume the 4th subtitle track is for signs/text for the French dub. I'll add it as French (forced for English audio), French HoH (optional for French dub)
