The Spanish Blu-ray inaccuracies:
Aspect Ratio: 1.78:1
It's 2.35:1 not 1.78:1
Notes: Cropped from the original 2.35:1 aspect ratio.
This is incorrect.
Summary: The Spanish release is the only English-friendly edition known so far, with an exclusive audio commentary, but has lossy sound and is cropped.
It isn't cropped, but this is otherwise correct.
I took a risk on this recently as it's the only English subtitled blu-ray and I couldn't find anywhere to back up it's cropped. Comparing it to my R1 Sony USA DVD, it's the same aspect ratio. The first part of the film is 1.78:1 and then it changes to 2.35:1. The point it changes aspect ratio, is the same on both my USA DVD and Spanish Blu-ray.
The rear cover on both releases just states 2.35:1 though, as does IMDB.
I suspect the person who said it's cropped, only watched the fist few minutes and concluded it must be cropped. My USA DVD is the same though. I assume therefore this is as the director intended and all releases are like this.
