Sherlock Holmes: Series 2 (TV) (1968)

For the DVD page:

R1 America - A&E [2009 Release]

It cannot be both PAL and a PAL-to-NTSC conversion - I expect the TV system is NTSC, but I don't own this release.

For the Bu-ray page:

"Slowed down to 24fps with pitch correction from the original framerate of 25fps."

It is perhaps moot whether this is correct. My understanding is that BBC programmes like this, that were shot partly in the studio and partly on location, is that the studio scenes were usually shot using video cameras at 25fps, but location scenes were shot on film at 24fps. The location scenes would then have been sped up to 25fps at some point during the editing process, and the final programme broadcast at 25fps (or more strictly, interlaced at 50i). Displaying the programmes at 24fps presumably then means that the 25fps studio scenes are slowed down, but the 24fps location scenes are returned to their original speed. For this particular TV series, I think the majority of the scenes are filmed in the studio, but some are definitely on location.
