Re: Simpsons: Season One Box Set (The) (1989)
I've been planning to update the Simpsons DVD sets for a while now.
Could you please list the runtimes of the episodes and extras please?
Also, besides the commentaries, are the extras subtitled?
Although another question:
I found no info of the non-US sets having the Albert Brooks Audio Outtakes. Is it on the Dutch release or is it missing?

I'm quite sure this is wrong. The "Bart the General" animatic is narrated by Matt Groening and David Silverman on all other releases.Animatic: Bart the General with commentary by Albert Brooks

Question Rene, for "The Telltale Head" episode, is this the dialogue in the ending?
I have the US release and the above dialogue is SLIGHTLY different.
This is also a question for anyone with PAL versions of the set - UK, German, etc.BART

Re: Simpsons: Season One Box Set (The) FAO Rene and others!
Hi,
Thank you for picking up my submission.
I do not have the sets at my disposal right now (I own both the R1 US and the R2 NL). I will try to answer your questions later with respect to the R2 NL dvd. This can take some time.
However, I can tell you that I have seen the differences in "The Telltale Head" episode when comparing the R2NL DVD release to the R1 US DVD release.
For your information, on this youtube video the R1 dvd is compared to a UK VHS:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXeN-jUQh1M
This UK VHS version is the same as the R2 NL DVD (I played UK VHS part of the youtube video at the same time as the R2 NL DVD and the segment is the same).

Re: Simpsons: Season One Box Set (The) FAO Rene and others!
Easter eggs are a bit wrong. For first egg you go on "Art of the Simpsons" page and you press left on any of the selections on that page and it highlights Bart's comic book, leading you to Simpsons on various 1990 magazine covers (no need to be on "special features")."Magazine Covers"
- On disc 3, enter "Art of the Simpsons", highlight "extra features" then press left to highlight Bart's comic book, leading you to Simpsons on various 1990 magazine covers.
"T-Shirt Controversy" news report (1:46)
- On disc 3, go to the second Special Features page, highlight "Some Enchanted Evening" and press left, to highlight Bart's T-shirt. This will lead you to a featurette on the outrage some Simpsons T-shirts caused when they were released.
Second one is the same deal you just press left from any of the selections on Special Features page, there is no need to highlight "Some Enchanted Evening".
Maybe US is different but for UK it is so.
PS! UK and Scandinavian releases are identical.

Re: Simpsons: Season One Box Set (The) FAO Rene and others!
Finally found the time to further check the Dutch set after your questions. See hereunder my findings. Please note that the main reason I posted the entry in the first place is because of the different version/cut of the The Telltale Head episode as I already mentioned. I kindly ask you to include this in the conclusion. I dont' know what version it is (broadcast or rerun), but I do know it is different when compared to the R1 US DVD release (different dialogue). I also did not find the (optional) commentary by Matt Groening, James L. Brooks, director David Silverman, and writer Al Jean on the special feature: the Never Before Seen Outtakes from an Unaired Version of "Some Enchanted Evening" on disc 3. Furthermore, the special feature: Albert Brooks Audio Outtakes from "Life on the Fast Lane" is also not present on disc 3. Information about the subtitles on the special features are added hereunder.
