Are these mono, stereo, or surround tracks?Matthew_Hardwick wrote: Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 2.0, Japanese Dolby Digital 2.0
Minor question, but are the extras in 480i (NTSC) or 576i (PAL)?Matthew_Hardwick wrote:all extras are in MPEG-2 SD
Could you list the full specs for the DVD?Matthew_Hardwick wrote: also includes a DVD (same audio/subtitles) with the "From the small screen to the big screen" and "Theatrical trailer" extras (same audio/subtitles).

Re: Cowboy Bebop - The Movie (UK)
It just says Dolby Digital 5.1 - my bad there, I put 2.0 instead of 5.1. It's 5.1 for both the English and Japanese (updated my initial post).James-Masaki_Ryan wrote:Are these mono, stereo, or surround tracks?Matthew_Hardwick wrote: Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 2.0, Japanese Dolby Digital 2.0
My understanding is that mono is 1.0, stereo is 2.0 and surround is 5.1, correct? So I guess it's surround in this case. The disc also appears to be identical to the AU release.
It's a UK release, so most likely PAL (how do I check this?). Again, this disc appears to be identical to the AU release.James-Masaki_Ryan wrote:Minor question, but are the extras in 480i (NTSC) or 576i (PAL)?Matthew_Hardwick wrote:all extras are in MPEG-2 SD
Certainly.James-Masaki_Ryan wrote:Could you list the full specs for the DVD?Matthew_Hardwick wrote: also includes a DVD (same audio/subtitles) with the "From the small screen to the big screen" and "Theatrical trailer" extras (same audio/subtitles).

Anamorphic?: I don't fully understand this, but it fills the screen horizontally and has small black bars vertically (https://i.imgur.com/11E9GkE.png).
PAL or NTSC?: NTSC

Re: Cowboy Bebop - The Movie (UK) FAO Matthew
1.0 is mono yes. 2.0 could also be mono, but it could also be stereo or be surround. If it's mono then the two channels have identical audio with no separation. 2.0 stereo means there are differing audio from the two speakers. Surround means the 2.0 track will spread out to a multichannel home theater setup automatically with a Pro-Logic decoder. My understanding is that mono is 1.0, stereo is 2.0 and surround is 5.1, correct?
The DVD you listed the English as 2.0. Most likely stereo or surround. Could you please check?
The Australian release has NTSC extras. I check Blu-ray extras with BDinfo. If it says 30fps or 29.97fps, it is NTSC. If it says 25fps, it is PAL. If this is a port of the Australian release, it will be NTSC.]It's a UK release, so most likely PAL (how do I check this?). Again, this disc appears to be identical to the AU release.
If you set the TV correctly then what you see is anamorphic, so yes.Anamorphic?: I don't fully understand this, but it fills the screen horizontally and has small black bars vertically (https://i.imgur.com/11E9GkE.png).

Went ahead and added the Blu-ray. Waiting on confirmation on the Japanese audio on the DVD copy.

What a nifty little tool BDinfo is! Here's what I dug up.
BD extras:
480i/29.970 fps
From the Small Screen to the Big Screen
International Appeal: What's Not to Like?
Spike: A Complex Soul
Faye: Intellectual Vixen
Ed: Resident Eccentric
Jet: No Ordinary Dad
Scene 3 - The Virus
Scene 6 - The Moroccan Bazaar
Scene 15 - Ed Finds Lee
Scene 17 - Spike Confronts Vincent
Theatrical Trailer
1080p/23.976 fps
Characters
Aircrafts
Automobiles
Monorail
Accessories
It was unable to scan the DVD.
DVD Shrink came up with this for the DVD:
1. AC3 5.1-ch Japanese
2. AC3 5.1-ch English

Looks like the DVD also has 5.1 audio and not 2.0. Thank you, will add the DVD later today.

It would appear so. It should be noted that the back of the case/slipcover says the Japanese is 2.0.

Added it.
So the back cover says the Japanese audio on the DVD is 2.0, while all other tracks say 5.1?
