Nightmare on Elm Street 4 & 5 runtime errors UPDATED
Several points:
1. I have the UK Blu-ray box set of A Nightmare on Elm Street 1-7, and have noticed that in the database the runtimes for movies 4 & 5 are both wrong (I assume they are wrong for ALL the Blu-ray releases, not just the UK one).
Currently they are both listed with runtimes of 85:37, but this is the runtime for movie 2 (Freddie's Revenge).
movie 4 (The Dream Master) should be 93:15
movie 5 (The Dream Child) should be 89:38
2. I think, but am not absolutely sure, that this Blu-ray release (and presumably all other Blu-ray releases) of movie 5 (The Dream Child) are the R-rated Theatrical version (and not the unrated version that apparently exists on some VHS releases). I also have the UK DVD 1-7 box set, and according to the database, the DVD of The Dream Child in this set is the R-rated version. The UK DVD runtime is 85:51 PAL, equivalent to 89:26. Hence the Blu-ray at 89:38 is effectively 12 seconds longer, although about 6 seconds of this is due to a different New Line Cinema animated logo at the start. On IMDb, the alternate versions page for this movie:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097981/al ... c_ql_trv_5
has seemingly contradictory entries, suggesting both that the unrated version is 15 seconds longer, and that it is 91 minutes long (about 1-2 minutes longer).
3. The runtimes for the UK DVD box set releases are not currently listed in the database. If you wish to add these in, they are as follows (all PAL):
1 87:31
2 81:56
3 92:31
4 89:23
5 85:51
6 85:30
7 107:32

Updated the Blu-rays so far. Need some time to do all the DVDs.

Re: Nightmare on Elm Street 4 & 5 runtime errors
Could you provide all the extras runtimes for the DVD box?

Re: Nightmare on Elm Street 4 & 5 runtime errors FAO Darrel
Sorry for delay - I didn't get an email about this for some reason.
I have noticed a couple of other issues regarding this release:
1. For some of the movies the Amazon link is to the Warner Home Video box set, and for others the link is to the Entertainment in Video box set.
The set I own is:
The Nightmare on Elm Street - The Ultimate Collector's Edition - 7-disc set (Entertainment in Video box set)
ASIN: B00030ES14
2. In the set I own, disc 6 (Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare) is different to what is currently listed: there are no extras at all, just chapter selection. Also, it only has one soundtrack: English Dolby Digital 5.1, and does NOT include a stereo track option.
---
Note that the "Jump to a Nightmare" extra features that are on some of the discs in the set are each just a set of links that take you to certain points in the movie, so they have no associated runtimes.
The runtimes for the extras on each disc are as follows:
---
1
Original Theatrical Trailer (1:39)
---
2
Original Theatrical Trailer (1:20)
---
3
"Dream Warrior" music video by Dokken (4:52)
Original Theatrical Trailer (1:28)
---
4
Original Theatrical Trailer (1:22)
---
5
"Are You Ready for Freddy" music video (5:17)
"Anyway I Gotta Swing It" music video (3:16)
Original Theatrical Trailer (0:39)
---
6
(NO EXTRAS IN THE BOX SET I OWN)
soundtrack: English Dolby Digital 5.1
(NO STEREO SOUNDTRACK OPTION)
---
7
Documentary Vignettes:
-An Insane Troupe (0:51)
-Two Worlds (2:04)
-Filmmaker (4:38)
-The Problem with Sequels (1:35)
-Becoming a Filmmaker (7:54)
Conclusions:
-Sadomasochism (0:54)
-Freddy Vs. Pinhead (2:55)
-Freddy's Manic Energy (1:40)
-Why We Like Gothic (1:34)
-Where Gothic Plots Came From (2:03)
-Creating Lasting Characters in Horror (1:32)
-Campfire Stories (1:43)
-Monster with Personality (0:33)
-Freddy As Sex Machine (1:58)
-No More Magic Tricks (2:27)
Original Theatrical Trailer (2:29)

Thanks James.
Looks like you've done quite a major overhaul of these entries.
There's one issue I've noticed - bit of an odd one. I can't seem to get the movie 6 (Freddy's Dead) DVD to appear when I search for it. However, the page DOES exist, because I was able to navigate to it using the links you added. It just doesn't appear when using the search function.
