There are two DVD comparisons!

It's worth noting none of those listed are in the correct widescreen AR. Another AR myth is that many unconverted theatres continued to show films in different ARs for years. Within a year or two of the 1952 switchover, conversion in at least the US and UK was almost total, with only a few Academy ratio screens remaining in arthouse theatres and the like.
