I just got this disc and the "director's cut" version has a hybrid soundtrack, mostly English, but German for the scenes that are not present in the US cut. No English subs available. Probably worth noting on the comparison.

(I suspect the German blu-ray must be the same audiowise but can't confirm. The whole movie feels like it was post-dubbed, probably they wanted to have as small a crew as possible because of the lions so they probably shot without sound.)
