Re: UHD - Germany - Stalingrad (1993) FAO Christian
That's hard for me to ascertain. Because BDinfo doesn't work with my blu-ray player which is connected to a pc where I do all my infos for dvdcompare (this blu-ray player is connected to my pc and can read UHDs with some firmware-"tricks"... but BDinfo doesn't play along
). On my TV I see that these extras are all coded in MPEG-4. Could this be a clue? What I can say: The extras look very much the same as on the first Blu-ray release. That means: same - bad - picture quality - so, not good, looks for me like SD. It's defenitely not High Def even if encoded in MPEG-4. The big difference for the movie of the UHD release is of course the picture but also the sound. This is a big upgrade too. I guess that the new blu-ray release also profits from the new sound (new 5.1 and I guess also the option for 2.0 Stereo which wasn't the case on the first release). Sadly no English friendlyness still...which I don't understand, because this movie never got some real "love" from other labels in the English speaking community - could be wrong. For me as a Swiss, "Stalingrad" is after "Das Boot" the best ever done WW2 movie from Germany (besides "Der Untergang" - but maybe I'm biased there because the Swiss actor Bruno Ganz played Hitler - if you haven't seen "Downfall", you have to watch it
).

You can still encode standard def in MPEG-4, so it's not clear, but I put a note that all extras are in German, which is obvious.
