About this rls: When Danmarks Radio and Nordisk Film announced their plans to - in connection with the meticulous restoration - change the picture format from the original 4:3 to the slightly wider 14:9 to - approximately - adapt to a modern flat screen, we sang along in the chorus of skeptics, because you can't just cut the picture like that! However, after seeing the result, carefully supervised by one of the series' original photographers, we have to admit that the pros far outweigh any cons, and we're guessing that even blissful Erik Balling would be extremely excited about this newly restored version of the Matador , which can now be purchased on Blu-ray for the first time.
