OVERALL: R1-
OVERALL: R1
The US releases for the original English audio and extras. Do note, the Warner Archive re-release are MOD discs.
Notes:
These are theatrical cartoon shorts for Paramount Pictures (made by "Fleischer Studios" from 1933 to 1942, and by "Famous Studios/Paramount Cartoon Studios" from 1942 to 1957).
R1 is a (almost) definite box set from "Warner Bros", remastered. It includes 60 theatrical Popeye cartoons (from the total of 231). Avoid all the other budget-releases (since some cartoons have fallen into public domain)! -
CUTS:
- R0 America- Warner Home Video - No Censorship Cuts (total: 416 mins). Apparently "Organ Grinder’s Swing" cartoon is using wrong end credits (01248 is the correct cert #). Also with "Popeye the Sailor", the original "A.A.P." (opening) logo is replaced by "Paramount" logo.
- R0 Volume 2 Scandinavia- Scanbox Entertainment - No cuts - 3 shorts.
- R1 America- Warner Home Video - No Censorship Cuts (total: 416 mins). Apparently "Organ Grinder’s Swing" cartoon is using wrong end credits (01248 is the correct cert #). Also with "Popeye the Sailor", the original "A.A.P." (opening) logo is replaced by "Paramount" logo.
