Versions:
Like many of Joe D'Amato's films, Emanuelle - Perché violenza alle donne? exists in a variety of versions, prepared for different markets, and with cuts often imposed by local censors.

Essentially, there are two major cuts of the film:
The export version, prepared for most English-speaking markets. This was the version of the film released at cinemas and on video in the UK (with 15:45 mins of cuts imposed by the BBFC) and in the US.
The 'Continental' cut, a version of the film with hardcore footage. As with several of D'Amato's other films, the film was shot in both a 'soft' and a 'hard' version. This 'Continental' cut has been released on DVD by Severin with the label 'XXX European Version'.
