- The Japanese release includes the uncut original version of the film with lossless audio and some extras that are not included on the UK release.
- The UK release includes the uncut original version of the film with an exclusive documentary and some exclusive interviews but only includes lossy DTS & Dolby Digital audio options.
- The US/Canada Criterion release also includes the original version plus some exclusive featurettes.
Note that all these releases are missing the "Calton Athletic Boys" interview with Ewan McGregor included on the Lionsgate & Universal releases.
General Notes:
The US theatrical release of Trainspotting had some dialogue in the opening scenes of the film redubbed to make it more intelligible for American audiences, along with having 3 shots removed/replaced.
Despite some Blu-ray releases using the US R-rated cut of the film, they still retain the original soundtrack without the redubbing.
Information on the differences between the Original version and R-rated version can be found at Movie-Censorship.com. -
