OVERALL: Draw
There seem to be only language and subtitle differences between the two releases.
Versions:
The R1 release is said to be cut in comparison with the original broadcast version of the mini-series; the cuts are said to be to scenes of violence, and the episode dealing with the massacre at Wounded Knee is said to suffer the most cuts. At the moment, we do not know if these trims are replicated on the R2 discs or if the R2 releases contain the broadcast versions of the episodes. If you have any more information about this matter, please let us know via our forums. -
CUTS:
- R1 America- TNT/Dreamworks - Cut in comparison with the broadcast version of the mini-series (512 mins - NTSC) - see 'Versions'
- R2 Holland- Paramount Home Entertainment - No known cuts
