OVERALL: R1

So far the only confirmed specs we have are for the R1. The R2 UK looks to be identical, and so this could be a draw. Note that with HBO's most recent DVDs in the UK they have done direct NTSC -> PAL conversions, so the R1 may be the best choice anyway.
