R1 "High-Flying Edition" has the longer version of the film with the best set of extras. R2 Scandinavian release has the same extras as the "High-Flying Edition", but it has the shorter version of the film.

Do note that previous R1 "Gold Collection" and some other R2/R4 releases offered the "Man, Monsters And Mysteries" featurette.

General notes:
The following versions of the film are known:
- The original theatrical version running ~134min.
- The second theatrical version, running ~121min, released after the opening roadshow engagement.
- The first video version, time-compressed and edited down to ~105min, with its signature song, "Candle On The Water", cut out.
- The second video version, with "Candle On The Water" restored and running ~128min.
- The third theatrical version, which came out in 1984 and running ~124min.
