CUTS:
-
R0 United Kingdom- Odeon Entertainment - Unknown, current runtime 83:42/87:11 (PAL/24fps).
The original 1972 film submission to the BBFC (84:07/87:37) was cut (no details).
The 1988 video submission (92:55/96:47) was cut by 9:30/9:54 to 83:25/86:53...
-
R1 America- Jezebel/Salvation Films - Yes, by over 7 mins compared to R0 Odeon Entertainment, but it seems to be mostly for pacing (79:46 NTSC).
1/The opening credits are different (sexier) utilizing, and overlaid, stills of Felicity Devonshire (credited as Felicity Devon) from the film's third story, "The Schoolfriend". The opening (short story) is curtailed as a result. Nett short by half a minute.
2/The first two main stories here, "The Office Typist" and "The Tennis Player", are in the wrong order - they do not agree with the end credits which list the cast in order of appearance - Odeon Entertainment is correct. Furthermore, "The Tennis Player" (Maggie Wright) is cut by ~3 mins, likely for pacing purposes as the material is innocuous. "The Office Typist" loses a few seconds at the start due to the order change. Note: The other two stories, "The Schoolfriend" and "The Wife's Best Friend", appear to be identical to Odeon Entertainment's.
3/Several minutes has been cut of the narration by Richard Wattis which links the stories, partly to make sense in the re-arranged story order and partly perhaps because they are a little parochial.
Note: the end credits play out a few seconds longer than on R0.
