About the aspect ratio:
The Aristocats (1970) is one of the several (basically from 101 Dalmatians (1961) to The Fox and the Hound (1981)) animated films from Disney, where there have been some confusion (and debates) about the original aspect ratio.
Most of these films were shown theatrically in widescreen, but there are also people who prefer 4:3 open-matte versions (some claiming that it’s actually the OAR).
With The Aristocats (1970), the 4:3 version is indeed open matte, as confirmed in the review (with screencaps) here at UltimateDisney.com. -
