-
Notes:BD Title: "Die Wildgänse kommen".
The last 7:13 come from an inferior source that reveals more picture at the bottom at the expense of the top and sides.
Extras are SD unless otherwise stated and have optional German subtitles.
The audio commentary is in English with no subtitles.
* A narrated vintage featurette that has a German narrator speaking over the original English narration (the title card is in German as well). Bizarrely, the interviews with the cast and crew and onscreen text are in unsubtitled English. This is a cutdown version of the "Stars' War ..." featurette prepared for the German market.
The English soundtrack is noticeably lower in volume than the German. -

OVERALL: Draw
The US release has a better selection of film related extras whilst the German release loses a few extras and offers an exclusive "Restoration" featurette instead. Also note the last 7 min 13 sec of the 2010 German BD are zoomed in and in much lower quality.
The German and UK releases both feature an AVC encoded transfer and lossless audio. The UK Special Edition also includes a bonus film.
GENERAL NOTES:
There are two sets of English-language credits, the British ones denoting the film as "Euan Lloyd's Production of" and the international one with "Euan Lloyd's and Erwin C. Dietrich's Production of" which was replaced on the HD master with the former on some releases (it is present on the Ascot Blu-ray). -
