For the director's cut:
- R2 Italy is the best edition for its correct PAL transfer and Italian and English Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks, but it doesn't have any English subtitles.
- R2 UK is uncut with Italian Dolby Digital 5.1 and stereo English track as well as English subtitles for the feature and extras.
- R1 DC has English subtitles, but it is a PAL/NTSC conversion and Italian soundtrack is only in Dolby Digital 2.0.
For the English-dubbed export cut:
- R0 UK is in the original 1.66:1 aspect ratio and is also a proper, but non Anamorphic, PAL transfer.
Versions:
The film exists in two major versions: the Italian 'director's cut' and the 'export cut' AKA 'producer's cut'.
The Italian title is a play on words with the "sgre" parenthesized in references and in a smaller size than the rest of the lettering on screen, with the remaining "Tradire" meaning "to betray" and the full "trasgredire" meaning "to transgress" -
