GENERAL NOTES:
This Italian-Spanish co-production exists in two principal versions:
- the Spanish cut (~86 minutes);
- the Italian cut (~87 minutes) which included a twenty-second nude shot of the heroine rising out of her bath, as well as a two minute scene between the shot of the spectral Rolls Royce driving away from the hospital and the shared final shot in which the psychologist (Paul Muller) and the police inspector discover the patient in bed with impaled with a dagger and the psychologist provides a supernatural explanation (the Spanish version cuts from the Rolls Royce driving away to a close-up of the dagger in the corpse).The Italian version places all of its credits at the start over the same length of opening footage as the Spanish version which has principal credits at the start and a two minute end crawl over the freeze-framed final shot. The Italian version has two minutes of exit music on black after the "end" card and card crediting the film's theme song.
