OVERALL: Draw
The French "Dead or Alive I II III boxset" has the best extras and 5.1 audio, but note it has forced French subtitles.
The UK release has DTS audio but lacks extras.
A note from Kino about the US release:
"This version of Dead Or Alive: Final was mastered from elements prepared for Japanese audiences, and includes Japanese subtitling for sections of the film that have Chinese and English dialogue. Kino searched extensively, without success, to find an un-subtitled master from which to work. Our release of Dead Or Alive: Final shows the best picture quality available for this film, but it includes the Japanese subtitles over the Chinese and English dialogue. As usual, Kino has subtitled the entire film into English, which results in some "doubling" of subtitles during the Chinese dialogue. In addition, as in the Japanese DVD release, Dead Or Alive: Final was not made available in the 16x9 format." -
