R0 US 50th Anniversary Special Edition has a 4K restoration in the OAR of 1.85:1, uncut, and features the best set of extras.
Do note, the R2 Anchor Bay UK release has an exclusive Audio commentary (seems to be different), interview (Easter egg) and DTS and 5.1 remixes in addition to the original Mono. NOTE, that itīs the shortened version.
GENERAL NOTES:
Two versions of this film:
- the longer, original, uncut version (87 minutes).
- the shortened UK version (79 minutes).
Approximately 8:00 of (dialogue) footage is missing for some reason. Here are at least some missing bits:
- 1:20 min scene when they get to the cemetary.
- (In the house) 30 sec from the scene in front of the fire just before Alan comes back downstairs.
- (In the house) 1:20 min scene, when Alan is showing them the contents of the trunk.
- Short cut nearer the end, when Vallerie goes upstairs to tell Alan they're leaving.
- No cuts to any of the zombie action.
