OVERALL: R2
The Dutch LE includes an additional "The Real Exorcists" documentary.
"Unrated" vs. "Theatrical PG-13":
Director Scott Derrickson gives some background info in his audio commentary; MPAA asked for some trims for certain "exorcism-scenes" of Emily (he at least mentions the scene in approx. 81:53, where Emily´s face expression had to be cut), and they also wanted the photo of a dead Emily (seeing at the court) to be black&white. At this point we can´t be fully sure that have all the trims included in the "Unrated"-version, but this is probably the case. The "Unrated"-version also contains about three extra minutes of courtroom material of Dr. Adani’s cross-examination (approx. 61 minutes into film) and was cut simply for pacing, not due to graphic content. He also mentions, that the scene (approx. 95:25 min) where actress Laura Linney is turning the clock around is color corrected for the "Unrated"-version (it´s not in the theatrical-version or PG-13-DVD). -
