Re-Release for additional extras.
The film / episode exists in three versions:
(1.) The premiere TV broadcast in a three-hour time slot on Sunday 17.9.1978 (139 minutes NTSC = 133 minutes PAL).
Extra scenes:
- Serina (Jane Seymour) in her news broadcaster role, reporting on the peace celebration as the Cylons attack.
- Athena and Starbuck discussing the destruction and the breakup of their relationship because she feels that they have more serious problems to contend with.
- Adama and Athena discussing the destruction with Adama's remorse of their inability to save everyone.
- Baltar's beheading by the Cylons is postponed temporarily and at the end he's tasked with tracking the ragtag fleet down.
(2.) The theatrically released matted widescreen version which actually predates the US Network broadcast and debuted in the early summer of 1978 in various non-US territories. The main difference here is that Baltar is executed (124 minutes NTSC = 119 minutes PAL).
(3.) The 139 minute network premiere version version was cut into three approximate 48 minute segments for syndication. -
