Re: Father Of The Bride 1 and 2 Blu-Ray (20th Anniversary)

I looked at so many reviews but never stumbled onto that one.

Thanks! That's exactly what I needed to know. The Part II DVD is the same non-anamorphic release that's always been around.

Father Of The Bride 1 and 2 Blu-Ray (20th Anniversary)

Does anyone own the 3-disc Father Of The Bride 1 and 2 20th Anniversary Edition blu-ray + DVD pack? This one: https://www.amazon.com/Father-of-the-Bride-and-Father-of-the-Bride-Part-II-Blu-ray/dp/B0077HQCRO

If so, and you're willing to check, is the DVD for Father Of The Bride Part II anamorphic ...

Re: Best Of The Best 3 + 4 Double Feature (Australian Releas

I managed to get an answer from someone that has the DVD. The back of the DVD says:

"Formatted from its original version to fit your screen.
Presented in 1.33:1 format in which the film was shot"

And each of the movies says "Full Screen Version" in their Special Features section.

IMDb lists part ...

Best Of The Best 3 + 4 Double Feature (Australian Release)

Hi!

Does anyone have information about the Australian release of the Best Of The Best 3 and 4 double feature? The UPC barcode is 9332412004231.

In the US version both titles are in 1.33:1 aspect ratio. Just wondering if the Australian release is also 1.33:1 or by chance it's widescreen.

This ...

I have the Dutch DVD and it's legitimate.
Great to know!

Is the quality ok? ie. Not a VHS rip.

Cannonball Run 3 / Speed Zone TO BE MOVED

Does anyone have info on this one?

I know there's a German release and even a Swedish release . Recently I found out there's an Australian release ( Front , Back ) but the eBay listings say:

This transfer is manufactured to order and is on premium recordable media from the best available source ...

Sure looks like it. Doesn't seem to be a decent release anywhere. Shame.

Re: 1.85:1 4x3 Transfer

I think it means the original aspect ratio of the feature is 1.85 : 1 but is presented in 1.33:1 or fullscreen with vertical black bars on the left and right sides (pillarboxing) on the DVD.

The info "1.85 : 1 presented in 4:3" is confusing, especially to uninitiated buyers. They should have just ...

Is there more information about Sidekicks available? The current comparisons list a couple of R2 releases. 1.85:1 4x3 Transfer

Hi everyone.

My copy of Caddyshack 2 is R1 4:3. I've been looking around to see if there's a widescreen version. I came across an Australian release that the back (closeup: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/9YMAAOxy79JSVe7E/s-l1600.jpg) says is 1.85:1 4x3 transfer.

What exactly is that? Is it a 4:3 ...

Re: Moonwalker versions

Thanks for the info, Brent!

100% agree. MJ's catalog really does need to be properly brought into the 21st century. Considering how iconic he was/is, you'd think it would've been done by now!

Moonwalker versions

Hi everyone.

I'm trying to determine which version of Michael Jackson's Moonwalker to buy. According to the comparison page, they're all identical.

I was wondering if the 2 versions listed on Amazon UK have the cuts listed at movie-censorship.com: https://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID ...

Re: How is anamorphic determined in the database?

Interesting stuff! I had no idea there could be 4:3 anamorphic video.

It seems like the only fool-proof way is a visual inspection. I did test a few DVDs and they were correctly reported but looks like that's not always going to be the case. I don't think any tool exists that will take a screenshot ...

How is anamorphic determined in the database?

Just wondering how you guys determine if a DVD is anamorphic or not. I know you're not just going off what the DVD sleeve says, since this is sometimes incorrect and it's stated on the comparison page.

Do you put the DVD into a player and visually determine if it's anamorphic?

Are there any tools ...

Re: Condorman DONE

Thanks, Sam!

Based on the Amazon reviews, the German release suffers from the same low quality transfer as the UK version, thus the Australian R4 release would be the same. Shame.

R1 it is then!

Condorman DONE

Hi guys.

Would anyone be able to do an updated comparison for Condorman ?

Based on what I can see (US, UK and AUSTRALIA only):

- US = 2 releases: a 1999 Anchor Bay release and 2008 "Disney Movie Club" release, with the latter being "presented in its theatrical 2.35:1 widescreen format but it is ...
