I think you have to correct the information about 3D :
you can watch the movie in 3D or 2D (from the MVC, full 3D or left eye only for 2D)
this kind of BD have been reported as 2D & 3D (sample : Texas Chainsaw 3D)

look at the informations reported for 'Texas Chainsaw 3D'
this one must be reported as :
* The Film (2D & 3D)
which means one encode MVC that could be accessed in 3D or 2D

(I think :
* The Film - in 3D
* The Film - in 2D
means 2 encodes one MVC 3D and one AVC 2D)

I could be wrong but that the way you are reported 3D encodings in the past.

If a 3D option and 2D option are both on the same disc, it is a given that the 3D is MVC and the 2D is AVC. In that case for codec, we always list the "higher" 3D codec.
