Morocco (1930) UPDATED

Post by Brent_Reid »

The Süddeutsche Zeitung DVD is in a tri-fold Digipak.

The UK DVD (ASIN B001D1F8MA) is also in the 6-DVD "Screen Goddess Collection: Marlene Dietrich" (ASIN B000FZDGWY).

While I'm here, the first German (unlisted on Amazon) and the UK DVDs say, "UPC Number: 5050582......" - is it necessary?

The film has also been released as part of the Universal Vault Series.

Updated.

Added individual ASIN, but according to the information I found, the boxset does not include Morocco; it includes these 6 films:

- A Foreign Affair
- Blonde Venus
- Destry Rides Again
- The Devil is a Woman
- Shanghai Express
- The Lady is Willing

We are not necessarily adding UPCs for new entries, but I'm not going to remove ones that are already listed, especially for a release that can't be located on Amazon.

I have added this release.

My mistake: I knew I owned the UK DVD but hadn't bought it separately; turns out it's in my 18-DVD Marlene Dietrich: The Movie Collection (ASIN B00IKVTF1Q).
Slightly depressingly, that means I have three copies of this film: in the US Glamour Collection, the above, and the Indicator BD set. Hopefully, the last time was the last time.

Ta for adding the US; I was going to but couldn't verify the runtime. Likewise with the only other major DVD, from France (ASIN B000VVY9OQ).

Have you confirmed the audio, subtitles, & runtime of the version in the boxset are the same as listed for the individual release?

Yup: apart from customised sleeve and label art, it's absolutely identical. The box set came first then its discs were repackaged and reissued individually.
With comparatively few (mostly US) exceptions, Universal have kept their original DVDs of classic films in circulation for up to 20 years now.

OK, then I've added a note using ASIN B000I2IZI4. The ASIN you listed, B00IKVTF1Q, seems to go to something completely different.
It looks like the French disc matches the UK & German discs, so I have added that.

Thank you. Sorry about the ASIN: I got distracted by a call while composing that comment and searched for something else before pasting. Dig your droll link!

Looks like you're right about the French DVD specs but various Amazons listing it as from "Arcades", whoever they are, threw me. It's also in the "Coffret Marlene Dietrich 6-DVD" (ASIN B000Y1BRFC) and "Coffret Marlene Dietrich 10-DVD" (ASIN B005LC3W4S).
